Overview
Tenstreet Xchange™ is a web-based platform for facilitating the verification process as part of the pre-employment screening process. Instead of faxing requests to a former employer, prospective employers submit requests via a web site.
Logging in to Tenstreet Xchange
Before you can do anything on the Tenstreet Xchange platform, you have to login by following these steps:
- Open the login page by going to https://dashboard.tenstreet.com/
- Enter the username and password you selected during the registration process and click on the blue “Log In” button
- If your login is successful, you should see a Tenstreet Xchange screen like the following:
- If you have forgotten your user name or password, please contact us at support@tenstreet.com
Making a Request
To verify past employment, education, etc., you can create requests via Tenstreet Xchange after logging in to the platform.
Click here to watch a video demonstration of making a request.
- Start the request - Click on the “Make a Request” tab on the navigation bar at the top and then click on the “Start New Request”
- Enter applicant information - Enter the applicant's social security number, first name, middle initial, last name and date of birth
- Pick the previous employer (provider) - Enter the previous employer (i.e., the provider). As you type the employer's name, the system will try to match that name against a name in our database of providers and will list in a drop down list potential matches found. Click on the provider you are looking for. IMPORTANT: Punctuation and Spelling matters – names can have spaces, periods, symbol, any variety. For example, ABC Trucking could also be A B C Trucking or A.B.C. Trucking or A. B. C. Trucking. Please try multiple variations of formatting to find the company you need to select.
- Enter the applicant's period of service - After picking the provider, fill in the start and end dates of the period of service.
- The Request Method should prepopulate based on the carrier's preferences.
- Enter the items you want to request - Select the item types you want to request by clicking on the red circles (changing them into green check marks). If an item type is grayed out, then that type is not supported by that provider. For example, the system won't let you request education type information from an employer.
- Additional applicant information - You have the option of providing additional information about an applicant, typically received from a job application. The system will record information about the applicant's stated experience with an employer, any accident details and/or drug & alcohol testing results. This information is not shared with any providers. It is strictly for your purposes as a requester. To see how the system will show the applicant provided information alongside the response information, see the section “Viewing Responses”
- Supply the Release - If you are requesting Drug & Alcohol information (or if the provider you selected always requires a release be sent to them), you must provide a copy of the release signed by the applicant and naming the provider (either the employer or trucking school). The former employer may accept releases via fax or via web and the system will guide you through the necessary steps.
-
-
If you want to supply the release electronically, it must be in either a TIF or PDF format – these formats are widely supported by all scanners and imaging software. Providing the release is done by clicking on the “Upload/Select Release” button and selecting the file from your computer as you would when attaching a file to an email message, by clicking on “Choose File” and then “Upload this Release”. When you are done uploading it, click on “add this request” and then click on the green check mark to confirm and send.
-
If you choose to fax the release (and the provider permits faxing), a pop up window will open displaying the appropriate fax number. Once you write down the fax number or send the fax, close the pop up window and click on “add this request” again and then click on the green check mark to confirm and send.
-
-
- Submit and Confirm the Request - Click on “Add this Request” to submit your request. The system will ask you to confirm your submission. If you do not click on confirm, your request will not be sent to the previous employer.
That's it! Your request is now on the way to the provider. You will be notified via email when there is a reply to your request.
Receiving a Response
Once the provider has replied to your request, you will receive an email letting you know you can view the information you requested via the Tenstreet dashboard (after logging in of course).
Click here to watch a video demonstration of receiving a response.
- Find the Applicant – After logging in, click on the “Make A Request” tab at the top of the page and and then in the “Search Requests” section enter some search criteria (last name, social etc.), then click on the search button at the bottom of the box. Depending on the search criteria you entered, you will see a white and gray grid containing the request(s) that matched your search criteria. Each row represents one request and lists details on the applicant, the provider, when the request was sent, what was requested and its current status. Requests that are ready for you to review are in a status of “Submitted”. After you find the applicant in question, click anywhere on that row. The row will turn yellow to indicate that it is currently selected.
- View Report - Responses are put into a “Submitted” status when the provider submits them back to the requester. Once you have selected the response you wish to view, scroll down the page to view the response.
- Refusals – If the previous employer refuses the request (no signed release, not their driver, etc.) they will list the reason why. If the request was refused because they did not receive the release, you will need to “start a new request” and forward the appropriate release. (Once a request is refused, the system automatically closes out that request.)
